Year 2024
In 2024, Signe and Ane Gyllenberg Foundation celebrated its 75th anniversary; the foundation's deed of establishment was signed on August 28, 1949. The anniversary was celebrated through a major grant distribution, donations to universities, a medical symposium, and the presentation of a jubilee award. In Villa Gyllenberg several exhibitions and programs were organized, including a new memorial exhibition of Signe and Ane Gyllenberg. This attracted a record number of visitors. The foundation’s purpose and activities were actively communicated through a presentation film, articles, advertisements, and social media activities.

The regular grant distribution for the two-year period 2024–2025 amounted to approximately 3.0 million euros, representing an increase of around 10% compared to the period 2022–2023. Additionally, university donations of 500,000 euros were awarded. The symposium Psychosomatic Medicine Revisited featured around twenty international and Finnish speakers and attracted over 200 attendees. The foundation’s anniversary prize of 50,000 euros was awarded to Professor Per Fink from Aarhus University.
At Villa Gyllenberg the anniversary year was characterized by high activity, with five special exhibitions. The exhibition Schjerfbeck & Fashion – Art and Costume History 1880–1950 generated the greatest interest. In 2024, the museum received 56,061 visitors—twice as many as in any previous year.
