Activities

The Foundation supports medical and related natural science research in psychosomatic medicine, a holistic view of wellbeing, and blood diseases. The research covers the mind’s significance for physical health and human health from a holistic perspective, including the interplay between the mind, emotions, the body and the surrounding environment, as well as the significance of the self and moral values. In the field of blood diseases, research on both malignant and non-malignant blood diseases is supported, including their causes, mechanisms, treatments and consequences.

Medical knowledge and networking in the medical specialities are also promoted by the Foundation in the form of arranged symposia within the research areas related to the Foundation's purpose.

With respect to Villa Gyllenberg, the objective is not only to increase the visitors’ interest in Signe and Ane Gyllenberg’s art collection, but also in their lives and achievements. The couple’s own pieces of art are on permanent display.
 

Visitors enter the ambient old villa to find an art collector’s home, built in the middle of the 1900s. Exhibitions on specific themes are held in the adjoining gallery, which also acts as a popular concert venue.

The Foundation thus endeavors to enhance the meaning of culture and spirituality in society. For example, through its activities, Villa Gyllenberg offers audiences a meeting place for experiences, mindfulness, and dialogues.
