Guidelines and criteria
The Signe and Ane Gyllenberg Foundation supports medical and related natural science research with a focus on the mind’s impact on physical health, as well as research on blood diseases. The foundation also promotes knowledge exchange through medical symposia.
We provide funding for research work that meets high scientific standards and contributes to long-term societal benefit. On this page you’ll find information about the Foundation’s grants, terms and conditions, and what applies when you apply.

Who can apply and how do we assess applications?
We welcome applications from researchers and doctoral students with a relevant scientific background.
We assess applications based on a few core questions: does the project align with our focus areas, is the scientific quality high, does the applicant have the right competence, and is the budget reasonable. We are also open to new approaches, provided the methodology meets high scientific and ethical standards.
What types of grants are available?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who can apply for each type of grant (education/role requirements)?
Applicants must have a relevant medical/natural science background and the prerequisites to carry out the project (competence, environment, and—if a doctoral student—supervision).
Can I apply for an international research stay or a congress?
Yes. Documentation from the host is required and, if presenting, proof of an accepted contribution.
What attachments are required for doctoral applications?
Supervisor’s statement, registration at an academic institution, and a timeline/progress report.
What is required for travel, international stays, and congress participation?
An invitation/supporting documentation from the receiving party (for postdocs: a certificate from the host institution). For presentations, proof of an accepted contribution is required prior to payment.
How should the project budget be structured and what counts as eligible costs?
A project-specific budget with clear line items (personal grants/salaries, assistants, equipment/materials, lab/other). Costs must be justified in relation to the project’s objectives.
Do you support professional training and projects in anthroposophic care?
We continue to support anthroposophic professional training and projects. To be eligible for a grant for anthroposophic professional training and projects, applicants must have anthroposophic basic training or training in health and social care. Applicants must be professionally active in the relevant field, and the continuing education or project must clearly relate to the anthroposophic view of the human being.
